Denton County armadillo control

We are experts in armadillo control, but are not your typical Denton County, Texas animal removal company. We do not use poisons or repellents, since no bait works on armadillos, and poison is inhumane. In our armadillo removal process, we trap and relocate the animals. Since armadillos do not respond to bait, the key to permanent armadillo removal is to know exactly what type of trap to use and where to use it — a process that takes experience, which we have practiced and perfected over the years. We completely solve your armadillo problem by taking these steps:

  • Inspect the entire property grounds - lawn, yard, garden, etc.
  • Set several humane traps on your property - the correct and safe way!
  • Remove all armadillos as they are caught and monitor for activity
  • Once there is no more activity and no more armadillos caught, we're done
  • When needed, fill in burrows and seal with underground fencing

Trapping armadillo bait - The question of what to use for armadillo bait is a common one, and most people are surprised when they find out the best answer is: Nothing. You will have better luck trapping armadillos if you do not bait your traps. The reason for this is that the armadillo is not a scavenger. It does not eat carrion or any other "scraps" left out by others. The items that the armadillo likes to eat are buried in the ground and that is where it will look for them. These animals are so difficult to bait, they are virtually impossible to poison. (Not that you should poison them even if you could.) Many experts use a cage trap set near a burrow to catch a problem armadillo. Because the animal's eyesight is so poor, the dillo will often wander into a trap without even realizing it simply because the device was in its path of travel. If this method has not worked for you, you can consider building an armadillo run to help achieve the desired result. By crafting a temporary fenced path from the burrow to the trap, you will guide the animal into the device. Armadillos are not too concerned about barriers, and they will follow the line of boards or plastic fencing until the find an openingthe trap. Once you have the armadillo, it needs to be taken to a safe place at least five miles away and released.

We do not do traditional Denton County pest control for armadillos, nor Denton County exterminator services. We are a humane wildlife-only specialists, and we focus on burrowing animals.
